Yoga is more than postures and stretching. Like nutrition, it is a way to transform the body, mind and spirit to achieve a more positive state. While the practice of yoga brings flexibility, strength and balance to the whole person, the healing benefits of yoga are limitless and best of all, accessible to all!
Nancy teaches an exceptionally therapeutic style of yoga, and incorporates the lessons learned from training across a wide variety of yoga styles by knowledgeable teachers and healers. She has personally experienced yoga's power to heal in reversing her own painful carpal tunnel syndrome, torn hamstring attachments, and chondromalacia patella. Today, she delights in helping her students empower themselves to reverse the effects of chronic postural imbalances through correct alignment and a balanced yoga practice.
She continues her studies across many modalities. Her recent pursuits include recognizing a desperate need for myofascial release which she brings to her students via ball rolling massage and Yin Yoga.
Nancy is available to lead seminars, workshops, corporate yoga programs, yoga parties, wellness and yoga presentations for all types of groups. The following section on workshops indicates some of the possible topics, but specific, customized subjects are always an option.
Nancys past workshops include: Yoga for the Feet, Yoga for Shoulders and Neck, Anti-Inflammatory Yoga, Yoga for Insomnia, Passive Stretching: Yin Yoga and Body Rolling, The Rite to Bare Arms, Twist & Shout, Yoga & the Beat, and many more. Dont see what you had in mind? Ask!

The Shortest Month A good time to Cultivate Patience with Yin Yoga
Most meditation practitioners have experienced the pain of stiff knees and an aching back at one point or another. The good news is that Yin Yoga can condition you to sit longerand more comfortably.
So what's the difference between yin and yang approaches to yoga? In Yin Yoga, you hold poses for several minutes, stretching the connective tissue around a joint. This, over time, can improve your seated meditation practice. Yin Yoga emphasizes releasing muscles rather than contracting them, so most Yin Yoga postures are done seated or in a lying position. Open to those without major injuries. Wear layers as body temperatures will lower as we practice stillness.

Yoga & Nutrition for the Relief of Low Back Pain

And, according to a recent study in the Annals of Internal Medicine, yoga may be more effective for the treatment of low back pain than traditional exercise. Join Nancy Zampella, MS, E-RYT to learn how yoga promotes good posture and proper alignment of the spine, and which foods can promote the health and juiciness of the vertebral discs.
